Three companies from the Highways England supply chain were recognised as new DfBB Champions on Wednesday for the efforts in improving management of work-related road risk and the reduction of collisions within their businesses. Certificates were presented at the SH Live event by Highways England Chief Executive Jim O’Sullivan.
Ringway Infrastructure Services is responsible for maintaining over 50,000 kms of the UK’s highways network, delivering specialist highway services across the largest highways maintenance portfolio within the UK, including strategic road network, DBFO motorway and trunk roads, and the local authority network. They manage in excess of 1,500 drivers and 1,100 vehicles
- Commercial vehicle crashes down 14%
- Company car crashes down 21%
- Commercial vehicle crash damage costs down 23% (equates to a cash saving of £130,000)
- Driver fault crashes in Ringway down 63%
Highways England encourage all their supply chain companies to get actively involved in Driving for Better Business and then champion improvements in the management of work-related road risk throughout their own supply chains and business networks.
