Fleet Managers – accreditation
The Driving for Better Business team often recommends to fleets that they look at the various accreditation schemes available to demonstrate a high standard of road risk management.
Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) looks to address the risks posed by construction logistics vehicles to vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, and to improve air quality, reduce congestion and drive operational efficiencies.
The CLOCS Standard is a set of requirements for all stakeholders to help ensure safer, leaner and greener construction logistics. It demands collaboration between the construction and fleet sectors to address shared issues, and draws together best practice to provide an industry standard that can be implemented by all.
Version 5 of the CLOCS Standard is now available, and these changes come into full effect on 1st March 2025 – so compliance from that point onwards will require adherence to these new requirements.
Driving for Better Business recently hosted a joint conference with the team from CLOCS entitled The Future of Road Risk Management where the new CLOCS Standard was introduced to delegates. You can access the presentations from the day along with a selection of images here.
