Issues found included:

  • Ford Transit 3.5t flatbed – carrying unsecured load of turf, however all tools etc were secured.  Weighed in at 4.1t – driver issued with fine, load secured and weight reduced prior to departure.
  • Renault 3.5t panel van – weighed 3.45t, but no current MOT.  Ticket issued and MOT arranged prior to departure.
  • Mercedes 3.5t recovery truck carrying Mercedes SL500 – Weighed in at 4.0t – driver issued with fine and car unloaded and driven separately on trade plates.
  • Ford Transit 3.5t recovery truck carrying Nissan car – weighed in at 3.95t.  Driver issued with fine and higher rated recovery truck required to take Nissan.
  • Ford Transit 3.5t Luton van – weighed in at 4t – driver issued with fine, load distributed across two vehicles prior to departure.
  • Peugeot 3.5t curtain-side van – weighed in at 4.27t – driver issued with fine and load distributed across two vehicles prior to departure.
  • Ford Transit 3.5t recovery truck carrying Nissan van – weighed in at 3.95t – driver issued with fine, van loaded onto higher rated recovery truck before departure.
  • Peugeot 3.5t Luton van – weighed in at 4.39t – driver issued with fine, load distributed across two vehicles prior to departure.
  • Mercedes HGV – DVSA inspector found a wood screw in the tread of the front near-side tyre, new tyre fitted prior to departure.
